On a busy road, how should a driver allow passengers out of a vehicle?

Stop and allow them to get out on the side nearest the kerb.
Signal to following traffic to overtake before allowing the passengers to get out.
Stop and encourage them to get out as quickly as possible.
Stop and allow them to get out from whichever side of the vehicle they are sitting.

Explantion: Before allowing any door to be opened, check for other road users passing, and in particular look out for pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists. Passengers should exit on the side nearest the kerb, without getting in the way of pedestrians.
